Cholla House - Detailed List of Amenities/Features
All of these amenities / features are provided to guests with NO extra fees
General House Overview:
Remodeling: Stunning whole-house renovation completed in 2025 which included all new cabinets, countertops, fixtures, appliances (range, refrigerator, water heater, HVAC (A/C and heating), tile (floor, kitchen, bathrooms, etc.) and paint.
Furnishing: None of the furniture in the house is made of particle board or plywood - all coffee tables, dining table, end tables, dining chairs are made of solid wood so are very sturdy and do not attract mildew. (furniture purchased from Room and Board, West Elm, Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel)
Comfort | Temperature | Cooling | Heating: The house was build with modern insulation in 2000, and a quiet high-efficiency central forced air heat pumpwas installed in 2025; the air handler also has high filtration MERV 11 air filter which reduces particulates inside the house (and one can run the air handler on circulate to simply filter the air without heating or cooling it); 4 ceiling fans; overall, this house maintains a more comfortable temperature more easily than many Palm Springs houses.
Lighting: all rooms have recessed high-CRI LED ceiling lighting; controlled by dimmable Leviton smart lighting controls.
Window Coverings: Light-filtering roller blinds on most windows and glass door sliders - provides privacy, but with natural light - also both bedrooms have blackout options (curtains and cellular blinds).
Water Heater: Efficient Water Heater (new in 2025) - with a thermostatic mixing valve for long hot water availability and safety. Also a whole house water filter and water softener.
Sustainability/Renewable Energy: The house is 100% renewable and carbon-free energy sourced from solar and wind power, generated here in California - through the Desert Community Energy Carbon Free Option.
Pool / Spa Hot Tub:
Pool and hot tub / spa (both are salt-water) - installed new in 2025.
Stunning views of mountains, city, sunsets) (Hot Tub heating included in rental price).
Outdoor shower (right outside the back door in the primary bath).

Primary Bedroom with a CalKing (California King) sized bed (for 2 persons)
Guest Bedroom with two Twin-XL beds which can be pushed together (with a foam bed bridge) to make one King bed (for 2 persons) (guests can easily configure the beds either way depending on their needs)
Office has a Queen-sized sofa sleeper - this is a high-quality Room and Board Berin sofa sleeper by American Leather (Wirecutter rates it as the best sofa sleeper) (for 2 persons)

Primary Bedroom also has a Full-sized sofa sleeper that can be used in a pinch (for 2 persons)
Main Living Area / Dining Area:
Room and Board Metro sectional sofa - seating for at least 6 or 7.
Living Room ceiling fan.
Dining table with seating for 6 + breakfast bar at window with seating for 4 + island bar seats with seating for 2.
High-Speed Internet connection - with both Wi-Fi Access and plug-in ethernet cable - can also connect to the wireless from the pool area.
Large selection of pots and pans - plates, glassware, and silverware

Optional kid high chair available (on request) - this is a free standing highchair - probably suitable for a child 6 months or older, but depends on the size of the child.
General Bedroom Notes:
Fluffy duvets of different thicknesses (with 100% cotton duvet covers).
Blackout coverings available on all bedroom windows.
Both bedrooms have ceiling fans.
All mattresses at the Cholla house are replaces as per manufacturer recommendations (usually at least every 8 years)
Primary Bedroom:
Huge walk-in closet - with shelves and poles with hangers.
Double-glass sliding doors with access to pool patio - amounting to 10ft by 8ft of glass providing gorgeous views of San Jacinto mountains, pool area, and desert landscaped yard. Blackout curtains are large enough to cover all that glass.
CalKing-sized mattress.
Organic natural pillow topper (latex) added to mattress (can be easily removed if prefer a firmer bed).
Sofa - is a full-sized sofa sleeper; if need extra sleeping options are needed.
Closet has an extra TV (with a Roku stick) - for use if wanted in either of the bedrooms
Sonos Smart Speaker - which is portable, so can be moved to other rooms as desired.
Guest Bedroom:
3 wardrobe closets with shelves, drawers, and a closet pole with hangers.
2 Twin-XL beds which can be pushed together (with easy to use foam bed bridge) to form a King-sized bed.
The guest room also has a rolling / folding desk - has an external monitor, but could also place the extra TV (mentioned above) on this desk.
Clock Radio with CD Player
Window looks out at the Southridge cliff / hillside.
Primary Bathroom:
Double sinks.
Hansgrohe fixtures.
Hansgrohe shower head (with hand shower option).
No curb to enter shower.
Shower has a built-in tiled bench.
