A new energy efficient, clean, heat pump water heater has been installed in the outside water heater closet in the backyard of the McGee House.

In March 2024, it was costing about 30 cents a day to heat all the hot water used in the house (which is in line with the energy tag (see to right) which says it costs about $130/year to run this water heater).

This replaces a natural gas water heater, so this replacement has a lower carbon footprint because it uses the latest technology to use efficient methods to pull warmth from the air and transfer it to the water.

This is part of the house electrification.
